Americana Matinee is a weekly musical dive into what’s new, classic and in between in the American roots diaspora. Host Kat Griffin explores traditional and contemporary bluegrass, folk, blues, country, and Americana music from artists like John Prine, Gillian Welch, Sarah Jarosz, Sierra Hull, Punch Brothers, Lucinda Williams, Dave Alvin and many more.
Kat has been around public radio a good long time, including K-JAZZ, KPFK, and KCRW. She believes public radio is a vital tool for learning in university life. She's proud to be a part of The SoCal Sound's commitment to local music and the spirit of community in our work as a public service.
