Stars Session with Nic Harcourt
Ahead of their show at The Fonda Theatre
playing 3 songs and an interview LIVE ON-AIR
The Montreal-based band Stars stopped by The SoCal Sound studios to play a few songs before performing the next day at The Fonda Theatre, as part of their Anniversary Tour.
It was an active morning at The SoCal Sound, we were in the middle of our fall pledge drive, but we were able to carve a few minutes out to catch up with the band that The SoCal Sound has long time supported!
In turn, during the interview, Torquil offered his ideas of why it is so important to support The SoCal Sound, and specifically More Music In The Morning with Nic Harcourt + Jet, “We're here early in the morning because Nic Harcourt is the most legendary DJ in America. And without him and I mean this completely, we would not be standing here as a band. Nic is the kind of person and the kind of DJ who has supported artists over the last 25 years and built careers with his support, because he doesn't care what the mainstream thinks. He believes in the sound that he's hearing coming out of the speakers. He is the spirit of radio, and wherever he goes, the spirit of radio goes.”
Stars performed 3 songs; “Capelton Hill”, “Your Ex-Lover Is Dead”, “California, I Love That Name”
The SoCal Sound Interviews are filmed, edited, & photographed by Matt Blake, recorded and mixed by Tristan Dolce, executive produced by Marc "Mookie" Kaczor.
