Performing 3 songs and Interview with Jet

Catching up with Lo Moon
The SoCal Sound has championed Lo Moon’s music since we first their first single “Loveless” back in 2016, (watch the 2018 session performance here). Now Lo Moon is back in The SoCal Sound studios for another session, this time supporting the newest album I Wish You Way More Than Luck and right before playing The Roxy.
Lo Moon’s latest album I Wish You Way More Than Luck is the bands third full album release. This album is emotionally charged, with concepts of mindfulness over autopilot. Matt explains in the interview with Jet that the title comes from the last line of David Foster Wallace’s speech This Is Water, and much of this record is Matt finding his voice and learning how to re-express music and songs that reflect being more experienced, while retaining his voice from his youth that sparked the inspiration to get into music.
Watch the full interview + performance
During the live session, the full band performed songs from the new album: “Borrowed Hills”, “Waiting A Lifetime”, and “Water”, all with their signature etherial synth sounds mixed with hard guitars and driving drums.
- “Borrowed Hills” set the tone for the session, its haunting melodies and evocative storytelling drawing listeners into Lo Moon’s world.
- “Waiting A Lifetime” ramped up the energy, with soaring vocals and immersive instrumentals, cutting pianos, that reminded us why Lo Moon’s music is so captivating.
- “Water” tied the whole performance together with its driving drums and acoustic guitar
The Roxy
Lo Moon took to the stage at The Roxy Theatre, which is the hometown show for the band!

Looking Ahead
As the band continues to evolve, Matt mentions in the interview that they are in the process of getting back into the studio to record a possible 4th album, and wanting this to be a fully collaborative effort from the full band, and The SoCal Sound will be here excited for what they release next!
