Arcade Fire return with “Year Of The Snake”…first new song from the band’s seventh studio record Pink Elephant (out 5/9)…the album title refers to the effect that the more you try to suppress a thought, the harder it becomes to avoid… 2025 is also the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac…

Wet Leg posted on instagram "We are so back."

Wet Leg – “Catch These Fists”…this is the first song off of moisturizer (out 7/11)…Nic Harcourt just interviewed them at Village Recorder – that convo coming soon…the band played The River in Frogtown (ever been to Frogtown - on the east side?...it was my first time - and yes, we heard frogs when we walked along the LA River to get there.)

Pulp

Pulp – “Spike Island”…from their first album in nearly 24 years!! called More (out 6/6)…

The latest picture of the band shows them as a 9-piece – with Jarvis Cocker, guitarist Mark Webber, keyboardist Candida Doyle and drummer Nick Banks – alongside newer touring members…the album is dedicated to Steve Mackey, their bassist who died aged 56 in March 2023.

 Garbage

We love Shirley Manson, amiright? 

Garbage – “There’s No Future In Optimism”…from their eighth studio album Let All That We Imagine Be The Light (out 5/30)…it was recorded at Red Razor Sounds in Los Angeles, Butch Vig’s studio Grunge Is Dead, and Shirley Manson’s bedroom. The record was produced by the band and longtime engineer Billy Bush.

OK Go

OK Go – “Love”…from the new album And the Adjacent Possible (out now)…from the band’s fifth studio album and first full-length release since 2014’s Hungry Ghosts…sold out show at the Bellwether 5/16…very fun video to go with this song (but, of course!) - watch it here.

Leon Bridges – “Laredo”…another track off his fourth studio album Leon (came out in Oct)…Leon plays with Charley Crockett at the Hollywood Bowl 6/5.

LOCAL SPOTLIGHTS:

Sea Pipes

Sea Pipes – “Boots”…another song from the LA indio trio - from a small school in North Hollywood...Edward Maxam (guitar, vocals) Govind Cleckler (drums) and Ben Posner (bass). They put out an EP, but this song is from their upcoming debut album.

Trousdale – “Lonely Night”…another track off of Growing Pains (came out last Friday 4/11)…playing the El Rey 6/21

Sparks – “Drowned In A Sea Of Tears”…off their new album Mad! (out 5/23)…they play the Greek 9/30…a new documentary about them is coming out The Sparks Brothers (in theatres 6/18)…here’s a trailer for it

Grave Waves – “Bender”…four-piece from LA…playing Creek Psych Fest 5/17 in Santa Clarita…Permanent Records Roadhouse in LA 5/29.
